"She looks beautiful!" - Parvarti Patil

One thing every girl seems to want from the Harry Potter movies is Hermione's ruffley pink dress from the Yule Ball. Even Emma Watson herself has said that she was afraid to wear it just in case she ruined it. The dress is even on sale for hundreds of dollars. But let me tell you a secret: I don't think the dress looked good. At all.
Call me a hater, call me whatever you want to. I think that it was great for Hermione to be beautiful that one night to show how she was growing as a young lady, but I think the movie didn't do the book's description any justice.
All the time, when I'm talking to fellow Potterheads, I always hear girls saying they want the dress. But do they really want the dress? Or do they want what it stands for?
I'm not sure why I don't like it. Maybe it's beside it's pink, and pink is my least favorite color. Maybe it's because it's ruffley, and I can't deal with ruffles. Who knows? But I know I can't be the only one who doesn't like the pink wow-look-guys-Hermione-actually-IS-a-girl ruffle dress. I just can't be.
So the moral of the story is: no I don't like the dress, but I love what the dress stands for.
Until next time, fellow Potterheads
